Got Sins?

I bought Sins of a Solar Empire on Vetril’s recommendation, and boy was it a mistake. Between Call of Duty 4, Rock Band, Burnout Paradise, playing WoW again, bouts of Team Fortress 2, and games of Civ4: Beyond the Sword, I don’t have time for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, World in Conflict, or Company of [...]

Civ 4: Beyond the Sword under VMWare

I have my Boot Camp partition set up as a VM under VMware Fusion for those times I am out of town and want to get my gaming fix. Since Sid Meiers Civilization IV Beyond the Sword is not yet out for Mac, that gets played under Windows. Team Fortress 2 is another one that [...]

Rock Band

My wife was never a fan of Metallica but between the DLC and unlocking the songs inRock Band, she has been cranking it out on guitar. I am still playing at medium with occasional excursions into hard difficulty. I am not too successful at the latter. Timing is more critical on the [...]

Medialink - Mac to Playstation 3 streaming

I’ve been using Connect360 to stream photos, movies, and music from my G5 to my Xbox 360 since I bought the latter. Streaming from Macs to my Playstation 3 was not easy - for some reason I could never get EyeConnect to work correctly. What was annoying was that TVersity worked just fine from my [...]

On the Gateway 24″ FHD2400 LCD

I recently bought the Gateway FHD2400 24″ LCD for my new gaming box. It has an impressive list of features:

1920×1200 native resolution
Faroudja® video processing
4 USB ports
HDMI, VGA, DVI-D, Component, Composite and S-Video inputs
Optional speaker bar - that I did not buy.
Rotating screen for landscape and portrait viewing
A stand that allows the user to adjust height [...]

Rock Band “compatibility” patch RSN

Looks like a patch to use Guitar Hero 3 guitars with Rock Band is coming real soon now. This will make my wife incredibly happy, and remove the one concern we had about buying the Playstation 3 version over the XBox 360 version.

Destruction galore! Burnout Paradise demo

PS3Fanboy reports that the Burnout Paradise demo is set for release on PSN on the 13th. The series is one of my favorites and the sandbox nature of this one looks very slick. Yet another reason I am glad we bought a Playstation 3.

Another midnight trip

It looks like my local Best Buy will be open at midnight for the launch of Rock Band. This means my wife will have me standing in line with her at midnight again. I can’t complain - some of the tracks are really good (Gimme Shelter!).
The Guitar Hero III wireless guitar will be compatible with [...]
