People ask why I would want more than 2 cores since “nothing really uses more than 1 core”. Beyond developer friends who get to appreciate the beauty of a “make -j8″, plenty of other apps utilize more than 1 core. Beyond the OS itself, Adobe Photoshop and Handbrake are just two apps I use that [...]

I have my Boot Camp partition set up as a VM under VMware Fusion for those times I am out of town and want to get my gaming fix. Since Sid Meiers Civilization IV Beyond the Sword is not yet out for Mac, that gets played under Windows. Team Fortress 2 is another one that [...]

I have been using iCal as my calendaring solution since Apple’s move to Intel made running Office 2004 for Mac even more painful than before. From Ken Case, OmniGroup head honcho:
January 8 is finally here, and OmniFocus 1.0 has shipped! I’m forwarding a copy of the press release below (with its links to our web site and online store).

I’ve been using Connect360 to stream photos, movies, and music from my G5 to my Xbox 360 since I bought the latter. Streaming from Macs to my Playstation 3 was not easy - for some reason I could never get EyeConnect to work correctly. What was annoying was that TVersity worked just fine from my [...]

So much for getting my Macworld predictions out early: TUAW has announced that Fox and Apple have reached a deal on movie rentals. I thought I had a real scoop last week!
