Interesting detail on the 27″ iMac:
Mini DisplayPort.
The Mini DisplayPort lets you connect an external display, including the Apple LED Cinema Display, to your iMac. On the 27-inch iMac, the same port offers input, too. So you can connect any external source that has DisplayPort output — including a MacBook or MacBook Pro — and use your iMac as a display.
You can use the 27″ as an external display. Shame more devices don’t have mini-displayport. I’m sure there’s a cable for that.
Then you’ll love the just announced Mighty Mouse. It’s a multi-touch enabled mouse with no buttons. The two touch multitouch is pretty slick and should be an improvement over the current Mighty Mouse’s wacky right-click-but-don’t-have-your-index-finger-even-grazing-the-mouse system.
It also appears that two finger scrolling will have acceleration. My now-discontinued Logitech VX Nano has a flywheel which does the same thing – excellent for flying through excessively long Powerpoint presentations.

Storing stuff in “The Cloud” just means you are relying on someone else to exercise best practices. You still need to backup in 3 places.
From the Google blog:
Earlier this year, we launched Google Sync which allows you to synchronize your Gmail Contacts and Google Calendar with your iPhone, Windows Mobile, and S60 devices. Today, we’re adding Gmail support to Google Sync for iPhone, iPod Touch and Windows Mobile devices.
Lots of rumors beforehand and nothing like reality.

iTunes 9 was just released. You can go to any number of sites for the press release, so just my first impressions.
The look is now softer, more subtle, maybe a little more “plastic”. The maximize (green) button no longer puts iTunes into mini mode on the Mac. You have to hit Shift--M to switch, which follows the Windows behavior. The Application tab and the Store both have a new, lighter look.
The Applications management tab is going to be a hit with people who have a lot of apps.
Management of Playlists, Photos, TV shows, and Podcasts similarly got refinements, albeit not as dramatic as the Applications. It would be nice if Aperture and iTunes could both pull CoreData links and show quick thumbnails of the albums.

I don’t recall a full screen Coverflow option. I may just have missed it previously.
The “Automatically fill free space with songs” is new for the iPhone. I like this.
My new iPhone wallpaper, taken with the iPhone.

Downloading Yojimbo 2.0 today on a clean build of Snow Leopard. Type Yojimbo into the search box on Safari, and the autofill:

People want their sync.
Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never–in nothing, great or small, large or petty–never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.
