Activision’s press release has all the info. In short:
“The AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack allows players to experience this amazing set list with Rock Band, Rock Band 2 or other compatible music game peripherals.”
This is a stand alone game.
“All tracks from the AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack will also be available for play in Rock Band and Rock Band 2 by entering a special export authentication code for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system version.” No idea how much the export key code will cost.
As mentioned in my previous post, I am working on a database and Web GUI for tracking Rock Band scores. Yes, this seems like an undertaking for a game, but the wife has asked for something easier than an Excel spreadsheet. It’s also a challenge for me to shake off some rust (though I am not convinced I am fully oxidized).
For tracking and ease of coordinating online play, I have posted a page with all of our songs, including DLC. Eventually I will create a database to track progress and average score but this will do for now. Edit: Dumped the songs into a database and trying to remember PHP and MySQL syntax. Moved the page from a static HTML to php. Now to figure out how to build a Web GUI to enter in scores/percentages as we progress, do authentication, and so on. Wish me luck.

My wife was never a fan of Metallica but between the DLC and unlocking the songs inRock Band, she has been cranking it out on guitar. I am still playing at medium with occasional excursions into hard difficulty. I am not too successful at the latter. Timing is more critical on the drums and I still have not gotten separating the bass beat from the drumming.
Now take a guy who does video production for a living, plays drums, and decides to share with the world, and you get the following. He is playing “Run to the Hills” by Iron Maiden – which just makes it bonus.
Looks like a patch to use Guitar Hero 3 guitars with Rock Band is coming real soon now. This will make my wife incredibly happy, and remove the one concern we had about buying the Playstation 3 version over the XBox 360 version.
It looks like my local Best Buy will be open at midnight for the launch of Rock Band. This means my wife will have me standing in line with her at midnight again. I can’t complain – some of the tracks are really good (Gimme Shelter!).
The Guitar Hero III wireless guitar will be compatible with Rock Band (though the reverse is not true) for the XBOX 360. However, the Rock Band kit of drum, microphone, drums, and guitar will not be available in wireless for the 360. Decisions, decisions.
